Hi all. March was a long month. My cat, Cookie, passed away on Monday March 19, and I miss her so much, all the time.

I'm planning a bunch of submissions to the Writer's Digest competition, including one in the memoir/essay category I hope to write about Cookie. Writing about it helps.

I hope you all are well.

Linda

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat, Linda. I wrote about my cats after they died, and yes, it definitely helps.

Sorry to hear that. Although after an incident involving Fido and a bowl of frosting, I'd consider mailing her to anyone who might like an aged white domestic short hair who no longer appears to fear anything. I have memorialized my late cat Spot as a ficitonal character.

I just got back from a long church service where one of the poor readers couldn't quite get a grip on the word "Israelites". Which was unfortunte since he was reading a long bit about Moses leading said Israelites out of Egypt and putting the smack down on Pharaoh. I don't think it was supposed to be funny. Then they followed that up with a jaunty little tune about God drowing Pharoh's army, which had such a cheerful little arrangement very similar to Hava Nagila. That struck me as even funnier, though I did get myself under control by the time Mary Magdalene made it to Jesus' empty tomb. I think the insense combined with a lack of caffeine during Lent was messing with my mind. Anyway, nice to see ya'll back.

Cyn, you had a cat Spot, just like Lt. Commander Data? :-D

Lack of caffeine is the killer on Yom Kippur also. The service does sound like a giggler.

I have made a start on my Cookie essay.

Exactly like Lt. Data's cat Spot. Not surprising since the first thing I ever said to my husband was "I like Star Trek, do you like Star Trek?"
And Spot led to Fido and Fido to Fang and Fang to Cujo and Cujo to Krypto. I miss my Spot. Best Kitty Ever!
